Member previewMonet – Wild and Tamed

Before the official opening of new exhibitions, we invite our members to a preview!
Every hour you will have the opportunity to attend a short and inspiring introduction by one of our art mediators.
Claude Monet (1840–1926) is widely regarded as one of the leading figures of French Impressionism and one of the most influential artists in the history of modern art. The exhibition offers a rare insight into Monet’s landscape paintings and explores the relationship between his depictions of “wild” nature and landscapes shaped by human intervention.
The exhibition presents works inspired by Monet’s travels to dramatic coastal landscapes along the Mediterranean, in Brittany, the Creuse Valley, and not least in wintry Norway. These scenes are contrasted with the carefully cultivated garden he created at Giverny, where his iconic water lily paintings were born. The exhibition also features some of Monet’s most experimental late works and includes significant loans from museums and private collections across Europe and the United States.
MUNCH deli & café is open and offers one free tea or coffee to our members all day, as well as a 10% discount on food and drink.
