How can we draw together? Can a drawing emerge through dance and movement? And what happens when lines, costumes and imagination take over the museum?

We invite you to a drawing party, where the museum will be filled with creative experiences for children and adults alike. Through workshops, performances, music and drawing activities, we’ll explore how drawing can unfold through dance, interaction and play.

In the Festsal, the dance floor becomes a giant sheet of drawing paper as DJ Ingebling (Ingeborg Husbyn Aarsand), dancer Tone Kittelsen and artist Ingeborg Andersskog invite the audience to create a large collaborative drawing using their whole bodies. In the foyer, you can draw your own dance poncho that will light up on the dance floor! In our new Drawing Workshop, artist and fashion designer Edda Gimnes invites you into an imaginative universe where you can draw and decorate a festive paper headdress and dress up. Together with MUNCH’s workshop educators, you can draw dogs running so fast they almost jump off the page! In Amfi, you’ll find a quieter drawing area with an activity developed especially for the day by artist Victor Guzman. Throughout the day, artist Håkon Hoffart will be gathering impressions and drawings to create a drawing that will emerge on the big screen in the museum’s lobby.

The celebration also marks the launch of ‘Come and Draw with Us’, MUNCH’s long-term initiative promoting drawing for children and young people. Throughout the autumn, we’re inviting you to enjoy new drawing experiences in our brand-new Drawing Workshop, developed with support from Sparebankstiftelsen DNB’s ‘Tegneløftet’ programme.

Welcome to a day full of drawing, imagination, and creative fun!

FESTSAL

Festsal is open throughout the day. Here you will find a cosy café, a crawling area for the youngest children, and a dance floor that also serves as a giant drawing surface, available for both individual and collaborative drawing. Drawing performances will gradually transition into a children's disco. The Calm Children's Disco has a slower pace, lower sound levels, and gentler sensory experiences, making it especially suitable for younger children.
