Each year MUNCH and Oslo Runway commission a designer to challenge the traditional fashion show format. In this year’s edition, Pearl Octopuss.y presents their unique universe and new collection in the museum's Monumental exhibition space. This exclusive show merges fashion with art in an ambitious multidisciplinary live event.

In their Solen show, Pearl Octopuss.y creates a visual and artistic narrative that reflects the natural cycle of the sun, moving from the delicate to the intense. The presentation explores themes of contradiction, repetition, balance and contrast – elements central to both Pearl Octopussy’s design and Edvard Munch's artistry.

The music for the show will be composed and performed live by electronic musician Gundelach, who blends club, ambient and country-tinged sounds into evocative soundscapes.

Alongside the show, MUNCH and Pearl Octopuss.y will launch an exclusive merchandise collaboration. These products and select pieces from the collection will be available for purchase exclusively at MUNCH for a limited period.

Pearl Octopuss.y is an Oslo based jewellery brand with a bold, eccentric visual universe. Established by designer Cathrine Børter, the brand was founded with the desire to fuse and master the balance between minimalism and maximalism.  A core value of the brand is its intuitive design approach, emphasizing atmosphere and mood, instead of being limited by seasons, gender or trends. The design focus on personal style and identity offsets overconsumption, rapid trend cycles, and the demand for constant reinvention. Pearl Octopuss.y makes long-lasting pieces intended to be cherished.

Gundelach’s genre-defying soundscapes seamlessly weave together elements of club music, ambient textures, and even country music influences. His music stands out for its emotional depth and sonic innovation.

Oslo Runway, established in 2015, has evolved into a cornerstone of Norwegian cultural life. As a national exhibition platform, it champions the country's designers, fashion and lifestyle brands, providing a dynamic space where creativity can thrive. This year, from 25–30 August, Oslo Runway celebrates its 10th anniversary with a vibrant programme that brings together nearly 60 Norwegian designers, artists and brands. This anniversary event invites the public to explore the intersection of fashion, art and culture – an inspiring celebration of Norway’s creative spirits.
