Quarteto Art & Munch is Missing! Oslo Jazz Festival

Can stories hide in drawings? Can drawings turn into music? Can music inspire new drawings? Join us for this exploratory concert performance for children!

Doors: 11:30
Seated event

In a new commission from MUNCH, percussionist and communicator Celio de Carvalho has composed brand new music inspired by the myriad drawings in the newly published book Munch is Missing! by author Catherine Ingram and illustrator Celyn Brazier. The music has been composed in collaboration with an all-star line-up of musicians – Per Olav Kobberstad (guitar), Bruna Santana (vocals) and Gustavo Tavares (cello) – who make up the newly formed Quarteto Art. Join them for their very first performance together! Today the musicians will also meet illustrator Celyn, who will create new versions of his drawings inspired by the music.

We welcome you to an exploratory concert performance with Brazilian rhythms, improvisation and play with music and drawing!

About Munch is Missing!

In Munch is Missing!, the latest book from MUNCH Publishing, children and adults of all ages can search for and find Edvard Munch and a number of other artists inspired by him in 12 magical hide-and-seek illustrations. Here, you’ll learn about important moments in the artist’s life and about key themes in his artwork. Can you spot him by the midsummer bonfire, or on the hillside where he first heard The Scream?
