Konradsen – Hunt, Gatherconcert

Romantic songs featuring sounds from everyday life

The critically acclaimed duo Konradsen (Jenny Marie Sabel and Eirik Vildgren), present a very special concert exclusive to MUNCH, inviting the audience into their new musical universe. Their warm, soulful music has received praise both in Norway and abroad. Tonight’s audience will get a glimpse of their current new creative phase, as, Konradsen and their band provide an intimate concert experience that begins long before the first song is played on stage.

Konradsen is known for a rich, detailed soundscape that uses samples and field recordings. The music alternates between romantic, playful and sensitive – with small glimpses of reality in the form of recordings from old family videos and conversations with friends mixed with synths, piano and a nuanced musical landscape. The result is a complex sound world that feels both soaring and intimate at the same time. On their third studio album, they have worked with producers Hans Olav Settem and Marith Othilie Thorvik (Beharie, Jouska, Ea Othilde, etc.).

The duo have performed at festivals in Norway and Europe and have been featured in international music magazines such as Pitchfork, The Line of Best Fit, Stereogum, and Clash. As part of tonight's event, MUNCH will screen the short documentary "Storfjord 1829", the village Jenny Marie Sabel moved back to after several years in the capital. The documentary is a sober, in-depth depiction of everyday life in Storfjord and a quiet tribute to small communities – —and the people who keep them alive.
