Talk with marine biologist :

Edvard Munch loved nature! He painted several colourful pictures of the sea and was curious about scientific inventions and discoveries. In the exhibition hall displaying his largest paintings, you can meet marine biologist and brilliant storyteller Simon Hasselø Kline. We will explore the beautiful microcosm of plankton and talk about how vital this somewhat forgotten part of the ecosystem is.

You can meet Simon in the exhibition hall Edvard Munch: Monumental at 11:30, 12:30, 13:30 and 14:30 and requires an entrance ticket. The talk will last approximately 20 minutes.

Workshop:

On the same day, you can also take part in an exciting graphic arts workshop. Just as Munch was inspired by nature, we will explore the microscopic life of the sea together with artist Anders Kjellesvik. We’ll experiment with printmaking and draw inspiration from the fascinating colors and shapes of plankton.

The workshop is open from 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:30 in the museum's public workshop on the third floor. The workshop is drop-in.

Welcome to a children's art day inspired by the microscopic life of the sea!
