1. Experience the largest collection of Edvard Munch
At MUNCH, you will find the largest Edvard Munch collection in the world, with nearly 30,000 works! See masterpieces such as The Scream, Madonna, and The Girls on the Bridge with your own eyes. Discover hidden treasures and learn about one of history’s most renowned artists. Did you know that Edvard Munch ‘invented’ the mobile phone and loved taking selfies?

The Scream is one of the world’s most famous paintings, and we have three different versions! A painting, a drawing, and a print.
2. See three brand new exhibitions!
MUNCH is more than Edvard Munch. This spring you can explore our exciting program of contemporary art. Discover large upside-down paintings by Georg Baselitz, a playful exhibition by Kiyoshi Yamamoto and be captivated by Kerstin Brätsch's sensuous, colourful visual style.
3. Explore one of Europe's coolest neighbourhoods
When you're done exploring our exhibitions, visit our top floor and enjoy the beautiful fjord- and city view. Have a drink at our rooftop bar while you sit outside taking in the sunset. Treat yourself with a dinner made by Michelin-chefs at our fine dining restaurant or enjoy baked goods and a homemade lemonade in our café on the first floor.

4. Exceptional art experiences for children
You Are What You Is is this year’s children's exhibition. Kiyoshi Yamamoto makes art accessible, by creating a space for all kinds of people – a way of building a society. The exhibition is filled with colourful, billowing textiles, a specially designed amphitheatre which puts children eye-to-eye with art, and a video installation. At MUNCH, younger visitors are offered a unique and fun interpretation of Edvard Munch’s life through activities, workshops, exhibitions, and games. We want children to explore their own creativity.
